Fabric Event Added to FESPA

The European graphics trade show FESPA 2010—scheduled for June, 22–26 in Munich Germany—announces the addition of "FESPA Fabric," a special eventi to be held during the show that showcases innovation in garment decoration. The event, which will occupy its own hall at the exhibition, will be more than 30 percent bigger than previous garment decoration zones within FESPA shows. As more UV curingi inkjet printers come to market, the safety aspects of these new inks and printing systems need to be understood by those considering a purchase. To protect both production workers and print customers, safeguards must be put in place. The major safety issues with UV-curable inks, unlike solventi printers’ flammability and high levels of vapors, are skin irritation, inhalation of reactive materials from the printing and curing process, and eye damage.
